Cold forging

Characteristics Obtains the desired shape by plastic deformation without heating the material.
Advantage Low thermal shrinkage, stable and accurate net-shape forming
Disadvantage Formability may be limited depending on the material.
Fields Anti-vibration rubber shafts, automotive engine and decelerator parts, gear parts, etc.

Worm forging

Characteristics A process that heats a material to obtain a desired shape through plastic deformation.
Advantage Because softened metal material is processed, complex shapes can be formed.
Disadvantage Processing speed is inferior to cold forging because processing is done after heating.
Fields Automobile fuel injection-related parts, engine-related parts, etc.

Heading

Characteristics A method of obtaining the desired shape by plastic deformation without heating the material.
Advantage Basically, it is specialized for manufacturing small parts, and the processing speed is faster than forging.
Disadvantage Not as suited to processing large sizes as forging, and not suitable for processing complex shapes if the number of man-hours cannot be secured.

Disadvantage Surface finish is rougher than die casting and requires secondary processing.

Disadvantage Inferior strength compared to metal processing such as stamping and forging

MIM

Extrusion

Characteristics A process in which heated material is extruded from the frame of a metal mold to obtain the desired shape.
Advantage Suitable for mass production of long products due to its ability to form the same shape stably and continuously
Disadvantage Dimensional accuracy may not be stable due to shrinkage during cooling
Fields Metal pipe materials, sash materials, fence structural materials, heat sinks, etc.
